Student Lounge @ FSM Vasant Kunj Campus
The Student Lounge at FSM Vasant Kunj Campus was envisioned as a high-energy social space designed to support everyday student interaction, informal studying, and recreational engagement. The objective was to create a flexible and durable environment that could accommodate multiple activities while maintaining clear circulation and an open spatial feel.The final design balances functionality with a bold identity, allowing the space to perform as both a gathering zone and an active campus hub.
Design Intent
The layout was developed around zones of activity—group seating, high counters, informal discussion pockets, and recreational areas. A stepped seating element was introduced to allow students to sit, gather, and interact comfortably without the need for excessive furniture.The space was designed to feel dynamic while still remaining clean and organised, ensuring long-term usability.
The design language embraces an industrial yet structured aesthetic. Exposed services and ceiling elements were retained, complemented by a strong linear lighting grid that creates rhythm and clarity across the lounge.Material choices were selected for durability and easy maintenance, while warm wood finishes and patterned flooring were used to introduce character and movement within the space.

The completed student lounge functions as an active and adaptable campus space—supporting group discussions, informal learning, recreation, and everyday student life. With a bold yet controlled design language, the lounge has become a vibrant social hub that strengthens campus experience through thoughtful planning and execution.
