Project Brief

The canteen at the Annex Building, FSM Gurgaon was designed as a modern institutional dining space focused on efficiency, comfort, and everyday durability. The intent was to create a clean and organised environment that supports high daily footfall while maintaining a warm and welcoming ambience.

With a neutral palette, strong linear planning, and a carefully layered lighting approach, the space was executed to feel open, calm, and functional.

Design Intent

The planning was driven by movement and clarity. Dining zones and counter functions were organised to allow smooth circulation and efficient service flow during peak hours.Seating layouts were optimised to maximise capacity while maintaining comfortable spacing and an uncluttered visual experience.

Lighting & Spatial Character

Lighting became a defining element of the project. A repeated pendant cluster language was introduced across the ceiling to create rhythm, soften the scale of the volume, and add warmth to the dining atmosphere.Large window openings bring in natural daylight, while the warm lighting tone ensures the space remains inviting even after hours.

Material Palette

A restrained material palette was chosen to balance aesthetics with performance. Neutral wall finishes and clean detailing were paired with earthy flooring tones, creating a space that feels contemporary yet grounded.Minimal geometric wall elements were integrated to add subtle depth and character without disrupting the clean architectural language.
